We started Rec on Demand because finding the right class for your kid shouldn’t feel like a part-time job.
Our story
We’re Jess and Lauren — co-founders of Rec on Demand, best friends, and moms. Funny enough, we went to high school together but only became friends years later, when our husbands set us up as potential business partners.
We had done every kind of class with our own kids and felt there was a real gap in unique programming. The company was born in 2015, and within two years we had partnered with a local municipality and opened our Mini REC division.
When everything shut down in 2020, we watched the kids around us struggle without activities or real socialization — so we pivoted hard, running free video classes and custom sessions online. That’s when we rebranded into who we are today: Rec on Demand, focused on quality programming for kids and real connection for families.
Today we’re back to a full roster of classes, birthday parties are booming, and we’re still spreading smiles — for generations to come.

Best friends, moms, and the duo behind every Rec on Demand program. They built the company around one idea: kids tested, parent approved.
Jeremy Rubin
Better known as “Coach Pickle Juice,” Jeremy designed many of our programs and trains every incoming instructor. A strength and conditioning coach of 20+ years, he has worked with babies, pro athletes, and kids of every ability — and his classes fill within minutes.
Classes in Town of Mount Royal
If you live near Town of Mount Royal, you can take some of our classes at the T.M.R. Recreation Centre. Registration for those classes goes through the Town of Mount Royal directly.
